Taking on ballast. Hauraki Gulf
A misty day with a ship taking on ballast.
Oil on board (700 x 500)mm

The ship is unidentified but typical of the latter years of sailing ships.  She is loading stone ballast from a flat-bottomed centreboard scow, which is representative of the workhorse vessels around the Hauraki Gulf at that time .

This painting is available in Auckland priced at $4000NZ.(Shipping not included).
